"Horse Stall" booths filled with Antiques and Collectibles
Antique Mall
The Antique Mall located at Egypt Plantation, was started in 1997 by George "Bud" Northington IV and Melody Peacock as a collective effort, to add to the already existing Museum and Plantation House. With an area so rich in history, what better place for a rustic, spacious atmosphere as a backdrop for the wide assortment of antiques and collectibles. Individual dealer areas are in "horse stalls" with the addition of vaulted spaces, lofts, and an open Event Hall for auctions and trade shows. The Plantation will host a Trade Show several times a year, bringing an array of unique items from all over the country. The grounds surrounding the Mall will be filled with vendors displaying their wares, along with demonstrations of different trades, such as Blacksmithing and Time Period Re-enactments.
Bud has on display his personal collection of Antique Table Fans, Gas Station Signs, Borden Milk product containers, carriers & advertisement products in beautiful antique display cabinets and counters throughout the Mall. There always seems to be an antique classic car or truck that has been restored sitting around to be enjoyed, one of Bud's favorite pastimes.
While in the area, take a Plantation Tour of the 1849 Heard Northington House, Slave House, Local History Research and Tours in the 1900 Egypt Depot Museum, Cemetery, Northington General Store and Saloon.
