Introduction to Primo Sustainable ProductsThis course is to introduce you to the all natural lime and marble base paint and plaster products manufactured by Primo Sustainable Products. These eco-friendly finishes are created using century old formulas consisting of aged lime putty, crushed marble, and other natural binders that are made in the USA using regional raw materials. PSP lime paint, marmorino, and waxes are V.O.C. free and help maintain a healthy enviroment. There is no previous experience required to take this course. This is great for the handy homeowner wanting to redo their own home, thinking about getting into the decorative finish business, or the professional wanting to add new techniques to their portfolio. You will start out learning about the same techniques used throughout Italy and Europe by craftsmen hundreds of years ago to create warmth, beauty, and textures of the old world to your interior walls and ceilings. These lime plasters can be polished to create a high-end sophisticated look or add metallic and waxes for a more contemporary feel. Some of the samples will only take a few steps to achieve for a quick finish which means time and money saved.
All the techniques taught in this class are explained to give you a complete understanding of each finish and how to apply them to real world situations. You will learn and receive literature on surface preparation, tool selection, proper primer or base coat, topcoats, and choosing the best mediums to complete your finish with a detailed recipe card. Not only will you obtain the confidence to recreate the finishes you learn with consistency every time, you will be able to measure and estimate how much it will cost to do the room. Students take home 10 to 12 sample boards in the finishes shown below. All materials and tools are furnished for use in the class.
